Greetings,

I have just installed Ansys student 2020R1 for a class project and I cannot find Fluent as a 'stand-alone' applications like in the previous editions, as it does not appear in the Ansys bundle. I was still able to open Fluent through the Workbench program, but is there a more direct way? Is this specific to version 2020R1?

Thank you in advance for your support, kind regards,

Can you reconfigure the products under the Ansys folder? In that folder you might find too the Fluent launcher under fluent. I do not know the structure by heart.

Thank you for getting back to me,

I was able to solve the problem and find the fluent launcher in my installation folder under:

    C:Program FilesANSYS IncANSYS Studentv201fluentntbinwin64fluent.exe

maybe it can be useful for future problems.

Can I ask a second question, more specific to the solver settings? I remember that while picking the coupled method for pressure-velocity coupling under Solution methods, it was also possible to set the Courant number (by default it was 200) , as also mentioned in the user guide under 47.13. Solution Controls Task Page'. However, even if I selected the coupled scheme I cannot seem to find this option anymore in 2020 R1. Has it been removed or moved?

    Thank you in advance,

    best regards,

    Raffaele

    Hello,

Please create a new post if you have a different question. This will provide better visibility on your question.

To answer your question, if you are running a steady-state model, please change the pressure-velocity coupling to SimpleC and you should see the Courant number of 200 show up in the Solution Controls.

    I hope this helps.

    Best,

    Karthik
