Gramps are the most advanced feature rich professional genealogy research software on the marked, it’s not the easiest software package to start using, but when you haveread a little, viewed the exellent videos made by a user on youtube, the program and its add-ons (Gramplets) will just WOW you (if you are not one of those that think that all you shall do is find a familytree on the internet, push a button and everything is done for you …
Gramps is a manual enter information or import from file software, it has the widest support for file formats of all genealogy software, and the Gramps XML file format is in a class by it self regarding export, in difference from gedcom, it actually contain ALL data in the database in an open “readable” format …
There are also export to multiple other formats, including some well known web application formats and CSV.
There are multiple repport formats, for book creation, text reports, graphical report, interactive graphical reports, website presentation “reports”, and most all graphical reports support the free and open sourceGraphviz format, that can be imported or opened in a lot of other software … It also support the SVG graphic format …

As of 2020 GRamps has a great discourse group in addition to the mail lists for support and the Gramps Community and the developers have great knowledge and are really helpful, but as for all open source software, you can’t expect answer within 5 minutes …

I went from Legacy familytree as my main genealogy software to Gramps and have never regretted that choice
